Membre affilié au CEMS/IMM et au center for migration studies URMIS, Paris.

Martin Aranguren is a sociologist interested in the functions of emotional action in specific social settings. He developed a theoretical and methodological framework for studying situated emotions through studies on the nonverbal management of interpersonal distance in the Delhi, New York and Paris metros. He then extended this framework to the investigation of various kinds of discrimination in face-to-face encounters.
