Francesco Campagnari est chercheur en aménagement du territoire. Il est titulaire d'une bourse Marie Skłodowska-Curie (EF-ST) avec le projet de recherche Supralocal, axé sur les effets des réseaux et organisations supralocaux sur l'innovation des transformations urbaines initiées par les citoyens à l'échelle européenne. Avec un profil multidisciplinaire entre ingénierie, aménagement du territoire, sciences sociales et politiques publiques, ses intérêts de recherche se concentrent critiquement sur les actions et connaissances mobilisées par les initiatives citoyennes de transformation urbaine ; les relations entre pratiques, plans et politiques urbaines ; les démarches engagées dans la recherche et l'action en urbanisme.

Francesco Campagnari is a urban planner and urban scholar. He currently holds a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (EF-ST) at CEMS (EHESS), with a research project focused on the innovation effects of citizen supralocal networks and organizations in citizen-initiated urban transformations.

His training path started in the field of architectural engineering at the University of Trento, and then moved towards regional planning and public policy with a PhD at University Iuav of Venice.

His research focuses on european civic initiatives of urban transformation, with extensive research on Italian, French, Slovak, Austrian and Greek cases. He frequently collaborates with European civic initiatives through trainings and scientific supervision on urban projects.

His research critically focuses on the knowledge, actions and effects of civic initiatives of urban transformation; furthermore, he inquires the innovation and institutionalization of civic initiatives; translocal and supralocal networks; culture-led urban regeneration; relations between urban practices, plans and policies; civic participation and participatory governance; engaged approaches for research and action in urban planning.
